About Our Procedures

MICRONEEDLING PROCEDURE

The microneedling treatment is well tolerated. Depending on the area being treated and the problem being targeted, the treatment may take between a few minutes to an hour.

  • Patients should not use any lotion, makeup, or topical creams on the area to be treated.

  • Before the microneedling treatment is performed, a medical professional applies a numbing cream or local anesthetic to the area of concern.

  • A skin-needling device is used to puncture the skin in a specific pattern and is used several times to maximize results.

  • Each skin puncture creates a tiny wound, which stimulates skin cells to regenerate.

  • The procedure takes between five and sixty minutes to complete.

  • It is recommended that treatments are six weeks apart to allow for new collagen to form completely.

DERMPLANING PROCEDURE

Dermaplaning is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure for your skin. Your healthcare provider uses a special instrument to shave away the uppermost layers of your skin. Dermaplaning can help reduce the appearance of acne scars or other skin imperfections by revealing newer, undamaged skin.

  • Dermaplaning candidates should avoid retinoids for 3 to 5 days before treatment.

  • Patients should not use any lotion, makeup, or topical creams on the area to be treated.

MICRODERMABRASION

Microdermabrasion (MDA) is a minimally invasive epidermal resurfacing procedure used to treat uneven skin tone/texture, photoaging, striae, melasma, and scars, including acne scars.

  • Avoid sun tanning, tanning creams or sprays for at least a week before treatment. Do not wax, tweeze, or use a depilatory on treated areas for a week prior to treatment. Facial hair should be shaved a day before treatment. Microdermabrasion is not recommended during pregnancy.

CHEMICAL PEEL PROCEDURE

A chemical peel is a procedure in which a chemical solution is applied to the skin to remove the top layers. The skin that grows back is smoother. With a light or medium peel, you may need to undergo the procedure more than once to get the desired results.

  • Stop use of these products (Retin A, Tri Retinol Complex, etc.) five days prior to the chemical peel.

  • No facial waxing 1 week prior to chemical peel.

  • No filler 1 week prior to chemical peel.

  • No IPL or Laser Hair Removal 2 weeks prior to chemical peel.

  • Botox can be done up to 1 day before a chemical peel.
